It has finally happened: The News-Letter has entered the 21st century.
You may have noticed, if you’ve perused our website lately, that some basic though much-needed changes have been implemented, both in content and style. One of those is the very thing you are reading now: the News-Letter blog.
Our goal in this endeavor is to do two things:
- Provide, for the first time in the history of the News-Letter, regularly updated, web-exclusive content during the summer, when the newspaper is not in print.
- See what you, the reader, think of this slow-but-steady incorporation of interactive new media into the News-Letter’s editorial coverage.
In order to accomplish either of these goals, one thing is crucial: your input.
In these blogs, the News-Letter will provide periodic updates on all things Hopkins (and some things not), including breaking news and thoughtful analysis on the events that affect the University and its students. In order to keep our coverage as thorough and interactive as possible, we’re going to need your feedback, your insight, and your help.
Here are the blogs:
“What’s Next?,” written by News-Letter Science & Technology Editor Stephen Berger, will cover breakthroughs and controversies in science and technology, with an emphasis on research done here at Hopkins.
“Town and Gown,” written by News-Letter Editor in Chief Sal Gentile, will take a look at Hopkins and its place in the City, following news and politics from Charles Village and beyond.
Each blog will file new reports on a weekly basis, with breaking news and updates rolling in more frequently. Our writers will sometimes respond to reader comments, so please, feel free to offer them. The News-Letter is nothing if not a tool to incite discussion, analysis and thought.
